Challenges and solutions for sustainable building practices
Due to the need to reduce the adverse effects of the industry, the global construction industry has become more and more pro-sustainability. Project management teams are a crucial topic when concentrating on sustainability because they are involved from the beginning to the end of the project. Numerous studies have examined and promoted many sustainable practices in the construction sector. However, little focus has been placed on construction project management teams when discussing sustainability issues. This study aims to provide an empirical analysis of the barriers to adopting sustainable building practices and the strategies to overcome them. It accomplishes this by conducting a thorough literature review that identified sixteen challenges and sixteen opportunities.
Renovation of buildings using sustainable methods
To ensure affordable housing and social sustainability, it is necessary to upgrade many buildings simultaneously. This will increase productivity in the construction process. Additionally, there has been an increase in SBR research. The first guest editor of this special issue wrote an editorial that included a suggestion for a research agenda for SBR based on a review article (Jensen et al. 2017, 2018). Below is a summary of the identified research gaps and the requirements for new research. This special edition of Construction Management and Economics sought to publish recent findings that advance or complete this research agendas’ obstacles have received extensive study, and its motivators have also received considerable attention.
